All swing dances are characterised by groove, syncopated rhythm, swing feel, close connection to music, improvisation, celebration of community, along with freedom of self-expression. They are danced mostly to swing jazz music and bring joy and freedom to people of different races, nations, genders, ages, and beliefs.
