After our trip around the world last summer, this year we’re heading to…. the Zoo!
Throughout the summer, our weekly socials transform into the Summer Zoocials, with
a different animal in the spotlight each week. Inspired by the animal dance crazes of the
1890s–1920s that helped shape solo jazz as we know it today, expect plenty of wild
moves and animal energy.
During each Zoocial, we’ll also spend 10–15 minutes working on a special project: the
Hague Hoppers Community Choreography. Together, we’ll create a brand-new
choreography inspired by animal movements, with everyone invited to contribute and
vote on what comes next. Join the Community Choreography WhatsApp community or
Signal group to stay updated, vote, suggest moves, and catch up on recaps if you’re
away for part of the summer. Voting for the song we will we dancing to will start soon!
Of course, there will still be plenty of time for social dancing and hanging out during our
Zoocials—though if someone rings a bell, don’t be surprised if a game suddenly
appears!
