St. Louis Shag, or as Tommy Russo famously put it, “back in the days we just called it Shag”, is a lesser-known swing dance that was popular in the St. Louis area during the 1930s and 40s. It shares a lot of similarities with both Collegiate Shag and Charleston, making it easy to mix in with other swing dances, while still having its own distinct feel.
Lysanne & Andries will teach you the basics in this 3-evening crash course. The first hour is open to complete beginners, while the second hour offers more material for those who already know the basics of St. Louis Shag. And if you already know Collegiate Shag and/or Charleston, join both hours for a bit of a challenge!
